At Placer Law Group, APC, we understand that you work for a living and have a family of your own.  That is why we keep non-traditional hours, and are available most evenings and weekends to meet with you.

 Who We Are

Elise S. Baker, Esq., created Placer Law Group, APC, after 25 years in the legal profession.  She completed her undergraduate studies in southern California at California State University, Northridge.  While a student a McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, Elise excelled, graduating in 1998 with distinction and earning high honors.  During law school, she participated in McGeorge's Community Legal Services program as a student lawyer.  She also earned a place on the school's appellate advocacy competition team and taught other students how to improve their legal writing and oral advocacy skills.

Looking to create a local resource for quality estate planning professionals, Elise created the South Placer Estate Planning Council and remains on its board of directors.  She is also a member of the Sutter Heritage Advisors, which supports the Sutter Medical Foundation.  Elise also served on the board of directors for PEACE for Families, Placer County's sexual assault and domestic violence crisis intervention center, and remains involved with the organization.

Elise became a stay-at-home mom for several years after her first child was born.  When she was ready to go back to work full-time, Elise decided to open a law practice that would allow her to continue spending time with her family.  She lives in Rocklin with her family and also enjoys singing in a band.

Kate Swain, Esq., is of counsel at Placer Law Group, APC, and has been practicing estate planning, trust, and probate law for her entire legal career.  She completed her undergraduate studies at California State University, Chico, where she received her degree in business.  After that, Kate attended McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, where she earned a tax concentration certificate while she completed her law studies.

Currently, Kate is involved in the South Placer Estate Planning Council, both as a member and serving on the board of directors.  Kate has participated on the Placer Community Foundation's Giving Circle.  In 2009, Super Lawyers® named Kate a Rising Star.

Kate has spent almost her entire life in Placer County.  She grew up in Auburn and currently lives in Roseville.  She loves spending time with her family and has recently taken up golf.
